With four adult children, we are so conscious of being fair. So whenever we come up against a decision for one child, we always consider if we can provide something equivalent for all four. If not, but we think it’s important or necessary and we can afford it, the support is a loan or time limited.
We didn’t expect to still be helping our kids well into their thirties. With one divorced and the other back to full-time study, they really need a lifeline. Luckily we can afford to support them without jeopardising our own position too much. It’s a very different world they’re making their way in.
